다른 자연과학캠퍼스 소속 학과들과는 달리 건축학과는 유연하고도 창의적인 사고를 요구한다.
하지만 이러한 학과의 특징과 다르게 우리가 사용하는 1공학관 공간은 수직적이고, 특색 없이 평범한 공간들 중 하나일 뿐이다.
설계 프로젝트를 진행하는 과정에 있어서 그 시작은 매우 추상적이고 작은 생각에서 출발한다. 그리고 사용자의 니즈를 반영하고 공간을 구성하며 하나의 커다란 프로젝트를 완성하는 일련의 과정을 파도와 같다고 생각했다. 하나의 작은 바람이 일으킨 물결이 점차 파도로 성장하는 과정이 이와 닮아 있다고 생각했기에 ‘생각의 파도’를 일으키는, 물결을 닯은 곡선형의 공간에서 자신만의 생각을 키워 나가는 공간을 구성하고자 하였다.
따라서 S자 곡선 디자인을 중심으로 전체적인 공간을 구성하고 이를 반영한 파도를 형상화한 지붕을 디자인했다.
Unlike other departments belonging to natural science campuses, the Department of Architecture requires flexible and creative thinking.
However, unlike the characteristics of these departments, the first engineering hall space we use is just one of the vertical, uncharacteristically ordinary spaces.
In the process of working on a design project, it begins with very abstract and small thoughts. I thought that the process of reflecting the needs of the user, constructing the space, and completing one large project was like a wave. I thought that the process of gradually growing a wave caused by a small wind into a wave was similar to this, so I tried to construct a space for developing my own thoughts in a curved space that creates a ‘wave of thought’.
Therefore, the overall space was composed around the S-shaped curve design, and a roof was designed to reflect the waves.

기존의 수직적인 형태와 높은 벽으로 인해 그늘져 있는 테라스의 상황을 해결하고자 하였고, 현재 쓰이지 못하고 있는 일부 6층 공간을 확장하여 보다 넓은 공간을 확보하고자 했다.
It was intended to solve the situation of the shaded terrace due to the existing vertical shape and high walls, and to secure a larger space by expanding some of the currently unused six-story spaces.
program
테라스를 한 개 모듈 가량 확장하고 건축도서관 상부 공간을 활용하여 도서관 공간을 5-6층으로 확장해 6층의 버려지는 공간을 활용했다. 각 층마다 이어지는 테라스 공간과 5층의 야외 스탠드를 두어 학생들이 휴식과 독서 등 활동을 할 수 있는 공간을 마련했다.
The terrace was expanded by about one module and the upper space of the architectural library was utilized to expand the library space to the 5th and 6th floors to utilize the abandoned space on the 6th floor. A terrace space and an outdoor stand on the 5th floor were set up to provide a space for students to rest and read.
